Skip Russell has been a resident of Ruston since 1963 when he came to Louisiana Tech. After graduating with a degree in Education, Skip taught school for 2 years at Lee Jr High in Monroe. He was director of High School relations at Louisiana Tech for 6 years which is where he met his bride, Carolyn. For a short stent Skip worked for US congress with Jerry Huckaby in Washington. Since then, he has been a State Farm Insurance agent for the past 45 years. Skip and Carolyn have 6 kids and 11 grandchildren. Their favorite things to do include any Louisiana Tech sporting event and attending anything their grandchildren are involved in. On any random day you can find Skip on his farm wrangling his 40 cows or 60 miniature horses.
